What you’ll need:

  • Chalks

Steps:

All you need is some chalk, and as you travel through the forest, mark the trees with an “X” or something more convenient and easier to understand only for you, and then when you’re trying to leave, you can look for the chalk marks. Make sure to properly marked it.

2. Looking for the right direction using a paper clip compass

If you’re out in the woods, or you’ve lost your sense of direction, and you forgot your compass, fear not, there is another way.

What you’ll need:

  • Paper clip

  • Knife

  • Some water

  • Leaf

  • Cup

Steps:

Put the water in the cup, cut the paperclip so it’s in a straight line. Then you’re going to magnetize the paperclip by stroking it against the knife. Then put the leaf in the water and put the straightened and magnetized paper clip on the leaf. You’ll find that this concoction creates a compass, and it will help you find your direction again.
