10 Creepy and Mysterious Google Maps Images

Google Maps has always been a convenient tool for more than just getting directions. You can see the updated traffic situation, plan your trip, and much more. The great thing is it also includes satellite and street-level photography of pretty much any place around the world, until it gets creepy and terrifying.

1. Pointing Gun

This is the chilling image of a bare-chested man pointing a gun at a Google Street View car on the porch of a house.

The alarming photographs shows five people sitting outside of the Brinker St address in Detroit, Michigan, watching the Google car pass as a young man in blue shorts raises what looks like shotgun and takes aim at the vehicle. And as a tragedy was narrowly avoided on the day the images were taken in 2009, a true horror took place three years later.

The residence is the same address where little Ziya Turner was found dead under a pile of clothes in a closet on June 29, when her family members were supposed to be babysitting her.

2. A Broken face on the hillside

Is it a piece of art?
Is it a statue that was destroyed?

After this image from Google maps surfaces, people have been flocking to the internet in search of the exact coordinates.

Because this shot remains a mystery and it has caused people to research over it and wonder what the story is behind the mysterious broken face.

3. A Dead Body

This Google shot is both sad and creepy. The image looks like it was taken in the middle of a police investigation of a homicide. The dead body is still under the sheet, and people are still gathered around the crime scene trying to make sense of just what happened.

Google has committed to removing a satellite image from its maps that shows the body of a 14-year-old who was murdered in Richmond, California in 2009. The boy’s father Jose Barrera learned of the image and asked that the web giant remove the shot.

In a statement to MailOnline, a Google spokesperson said the company has decided to make an exception to its usual procedure and replace the image.

4. An Injured Cow Shot

In the street view, you see a cow struggling to get across the road, as it appears as both of its legs don’t work. It’s likely that the cow was struck by a vehicle and just trying to get itself to safety.

This image is more depressing than creepy, but it is disturbing in the fact that it made it to the web.

5. Pigeon head folks

At a photo of people with pigeon masks may seem harmless, but it is actually quite disturbing. “Pigeon play” is a big festival thing in Japan, and there are even groups dedicated to pigeon role-playing and dating.

6. Crop Circles

Although obscure natural causes or alien origins of crop circles are suggested by fringe theorists, there is no scientific evidence for such explanations, and all crop circles are consistent with human causation.

Google has captured images of intricate crop circles and other symbols like a pentagram embedded into the earth. Whether they were left by aliens or humans, seeing these complex designs with no explanation is unsettling.

7. The distored image in New Baltimore, NY

This street view images for New Baltimore, New York heavily corrupted and came up distorted although Google has reportedly fixed the issue already.

The shots look like they were painted with oil and water colors, and give an overall spooky feeling that made you want to call in a team of ghost hunters.

8. Car bandits

It looks like a scene of a horror film that involves deserted roads, broken cars, and creepy people wearing masks.

The coordinates are unclear and the car’s plate has been blurred out. But running into these people and the place will more than likely not a good encounter.

9. Human body or something else?

Coordinates 52.376552, 5.198303 into Google maps, will take you to a remote location in Netherlands. The view is rather disturbing, as it looks like someone dragged a bloody carcass through the walkway and dumped it into the water.

The idea has been debunked that it’s a dead body, but people aren’t convinced that it was a wet dog walking around either.
